If you live near Dallas or Lewisville, there’s no need to travel far. There are plenty of excellent options to choose from, right on your doorstep! Here are a few of the top recommendations from the area.
Bitter Sisters Brewery
Not far from Lewisville, in Addison, is the Bitter Sisters Brewery. A family-run business, this brewery grew up from a tradition of creating home-brewed beer for parties, vacations, and other family events. Now the brewery offers a unique selection of ales and runs tours and tasting sessions on Saturdays at 12 PM, 1 PM, and 2 PM for $15.
Grapevine Craft Brewery
One of the fastest-growing new breweries in the U.S., Grapevine Craft Brewery is known for its unique range of ales, with something to suit every taste. Located in Farmer’s Branch, while this brewery does not offer organized tours, the friendly staff are keen to accommodate visitors and answer questions about their beers and the history of the brewery. 
Cobra Brewing Co.
Located within Lewisville itself, the Cobra Brewing Co. is a popular venue for local ale enthusiasts. Open from 5 to 10 PM on Fridays and from 12 to 7 PM on Saturdays, they offer a range of excellent ales, including a number of seasonal specials.
Witherspoon Distillery
A distillery rather than a brewery, Lewisville’s Witherspoon Distillery is still very much worth a visit. They have multiple tours every Saturday, and 2 more at 4 and 6 PM on Fridays. Tickets cost $10 and need to be booked online in advance. After the guided part of the tour, lasting up to 60 minutes, you can sample their impressive selection of beers!
Audacity Brew House
A little further out of the way, in Denton, Audacity Brew House is a great place to visit! They offer a free tour on Saturdays at 3 PM. Or if you simply want to stop in for a drink, you can experience their range of fine ales, from the very easy Vienna-style Lager to the full-bodied Black Widow Imperial Chocolate Stout.
