Designer Jennifer Ott gives six tips during the installation of a secondary kitchen sink. When installing your sink on an island, placing the sink in the center or installing it on an overly small island will reduce useful working space. Avoid choosing prep sink that is too small, installing it in a corner or far away from other appliances, and aligning the sink with the short edge of an island (instead of a long one). These decisions may also make food preparation more difficult.
