If you are looking for a way to entertain yourself and your family throughout the summer in North Texas, the Sounds of Lewisville concert series could be just the thing!
What You Need to Know!
Located in Old Town Lewisville, the Sounds of Lewisville is a series of concerts running throughout June and July, every Tuesday at 7 PM. They are held in Wayne Ferguson Plaza, a 1.5-acre park located across the street from Lewisville City Hall. Free parking is available at the hall or along Main Street and Elm and Mill Streets.
Free for the Whole Family
The concerts are free to attend, with food and drinks, including wine and beer, available for purchase on-site. Attendees may also bring their own outdoor food and non-alcoholic beverages. Got little ones? Pets are welcome, providing they are licensed, vaccinated, and kept on leash at all times. And children are catered to, with a range of entertainment available besides the concerts themselves and special acts during intermissions!
Fun in Any Kind of Weather
As the Sounds of Lewisville is held at an outdoor venue, the evening warmth and breezes make for a lovely experience. There’s no fixed seating, however, so you may want to bring along some blankets or even lawn chairs to keep you and your family comfortable throughout the show. If the evening looks like it will be disrupted by bad weather, the event will be relocated to the nearby MCL Grand, if possible.
Fantastic Local Acts
Every year the concert series has an impressive line-up, chosen based on audience preference and a number of other factors to ensure the best possible selection of entertainment. This year’s scheduled acts include:
- The Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young tribute band 4 Way Street (June 6)
- King George: A Tribute to George Strait (June 27)
- The Vinyl Stripes (July 11)
- Just Like P!NK (June 13)
- The Rolling Stones tribute band Satisfaction (June 20)
A History of Great Music
Running annually since 1991, the Sounds of Lewisville has been a repeated success, growing in popularity year by year. In the past, top acts like the Dixie Chicks and King Creole have graced the stage, and the quality of entertainment has certainly not diminished. The organizers strive to include a range of musical styles to suit all tastes, picking a mixture of long-term favorites and up-and-coming local talent. Whether the Sounds of Lewisville becomes a regular Tuesday activity or you make it out to see just one or two acts, this event is a fantastic way to spend an evening. Even better, it’s an ideal opportunity to get the whole family together without having to spend a dime!
