Your Typical Day
As an Apprentice Plumber at CW Service Pros, you start your day greeting your co-workers and loading up your truck with needed equipment. Your Lead plumber hands you a work order to review. You understand the problem and get ready to assist your Lead on the solution.
Together, you drive to the customer’s house. Your Lead introduces you to the homeowner. You both roll up your sleeves and get to work. Your Lead instructs and supervises you and steps in whenever you need help. Once the repairs are made and your work area is cleaned up, you talk with the customer and take care of the needed paperwork.
Then, together with your Lead, you head to the next customer’s house. This is already turning into another great work day!
Work as part of the team: You communicate effectively and openly with your Lead supervisor, your co-workers, and your employers. You make sure all work orders are completed thoroughly and efficiently. You know that keeping focused on each customer’s satisfaction is the ultimate goal and that a team mindset will get you there.
Develop expertise: Working closely with your Lead supervisors, your expertise in the installation and repair of residential plumbing systems grows every day. You’re proud to know that your continually increasing knowledge helps the people in your community to live safer, more comfortable lives. Safety is always your top priority when responding to urgent requests and emergencies.
Earn trust through professionalism: Your work orders, bids, inventory, and other paperwork are clear and complete to be sure everyone from the customer to the office team is fully informed. Your tools are always clean, neat, safe, and ready to use. Every day you work toward becoming a trusted expert with your own apprentices.
Strong desire to learn: You have a high school diploma or equivalent. You’re driven to learn more every day because you want to improve your life and advance your career. You’re enthusiastic about every opportunity your apprenticeship offers, and you strive to exceed the expectations of your customers and your team.
Technical knowledge and people skills: Handing equipment, technical information, basic math and geometry are no problem for you. You’re both comfortable and professional whenever talking to homeowners and explaining their options. You look forward to finding the best solution to every new challenge.
Readiness to work: You have a driver’s license, a strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude. You can handle physical demands like heavy lifting, balancing on a ladder, and standing for extended periods. You can crawl through and work in enclosed spaces.
Professionalism: Your appearance is consistently clean, neat, and well-groomed. You know that safety is of paramount importance, so you won’t work in unsafe conditions or use any unsafe methods.
